This has been a weird week. Some changes at work have me thinking about that pesky Masters degree I started years ago… I have it on my 30 before 30 list which means I have to finish up before August because the fall semester extends past my 30th birthday. Time to buckle down! So with that mindset I found this secret fitting:
In my case it isn’t thinking I’m not smart enough that is holding me back it is just pure procrastination and laziness. I just need to suck it up and finish!
What things in life have you been dragging your feet on?
Is a new camera on your Christmas list? I was given a DSLR for my birthday by my awesome husband and quickly discovered that camera bags are boring and ugly! Since this camera was a small investment I can’t just toss it in any purse like I did with my previous point and shoot. For our trip I picked out a camera bag that was gender neutral knowing Matt would be carrying it a lot, however for day-to-day now that we are back I want a cute bag not a boring black one!
I did some internet research and lo and behold pretty camera bags do exist! Now I just have to decide which one is going on my Christmas list! Check out these great shops for some cute camera bags and accessories!
This shop had a bunch that I loved. I especially love that they offered lots of different color options!
Kelly Moore More fun colors and they have purple… sign me up!
This secret cracked me up because I too am a huge procrastinator.I can have a list of things to get done and can find a hundred other things to do instead, it is a real gift…
I remember when I learned you could change the way a refrigerator opened… it was quite an enlightening discovery! It’s the little things in life…
This one also spoke to me today because I spent the weekend taking apart and re-assembling both my dishwasher and my vacuum. I was able to fix the dishwasher but the vacuum is out of service until a part gets delivered.
Clearly my weekend was not all that exciting. This is a good thing because shit is about to get real with Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching. I don’t think I have a free weekend between now and 2014!
Are you booked in full for the holidays or do you make a point to keep things merry and bright?
I am so excited to be ahead of the game this year!
I have about 75% of my shopping done (thank you Zulily) and have the majority of our Christmas card insert done too… December will be a breeze!
Last year was our first married Christmas so I decided to send out Christmas cards for the first time ever. I always love getting a bit more than just a card with seasons greetings and a signature so I knew we had to send out something fun. Last year I made a year in review that told about our year by the numbers. This year I decided to go with a chalkboard theme since that is all the rage right now (at least on Pinterest). I am really pleased with how this year’s year in review insert is turning out!
Don’t forget you can order your own personalized Christmas card, photo card, or “Year In Review” for the holiday season through my Etsy shop just log on and send me a message!
Happy November friends! I seriously can’t believe 2013 is almost over, time flies…
So this week in PostSecret I chose one that hit really close to home.
Been there, done that…
If I could talk to the person who wrote this I would say “don’t!” I know how hard it is to change direction mid-stream, and it is even harder when you are a year from graduating! But you have the rest of your life to be whatever it is you are going to be, so take your time finding out what it is you want to be! It feels so important to graduate and be an adult in the real world with a career. It is so much easier to change majors, or directions in life when you aren’t used to a stead income with a mortgage and a car payment… trust me!
Hopefully, the secret sharer can find the courage I didn’t have (and still don’t really) to make a change and find what it is they do want to be!
What advice would you give? Have you experienced any mid-stream changes, how did they go?
